proServices’ Lines of Code Counter Tool
The first steps are the most critical. proServices Code Counter is used in the beginning of the sales process to verify system size for quotation purposes. In addition, a critical step in leveraging our company’s services is gathering the Software System’s Inventory.
This Code Counter is utilized in the two following ways:
Sales Quotation: In order to provide an accurate Firm Fix Price – Guaranteed quotation for services, we need to know the size of the system to be analyzed using Lines of Code as the metric. This metric is the generally and most acceptable one used in our industry and provides us a way to accurately price opportunities and guarantee its Fix Priced cost which benefits our customer by being a predictable expense.
Software System Inventory Gathering: Our process, like most analytical services is largely dependent on the accuracy and completness of the information provided by the customer. This Code Counter outputs several files as a result of its execution. One of which gives a listing of the missing and necessary files for the system to be complete and ready for our analysis. This is to benefit and assist our customers in gathering the necessary inventory together prior to handing over the system.
Once the system is received by proServices Factory, it will then be verified again using the same Code Counter tool to determine accuracy and completeness. Once verified, tooling will be applied where it will be checked for the third time for missing files.
